RV Hookups and Tent Camping in and around Mt. Rainier

There are numerous opportunities for camping both within the National Park and in the surrounding communities.

Although campsites are available on a first come, first served basis, you can reserve sites at the Cougar Rock and Ohanapecosh Rock campgrounds by visiting recreation.gov.

NOTE: Ipsut Creek Campground is now being managed as a backcountry camp and requires a wilderness permit. You can obtain a backcountry camping permit at the Carbon River Ranger Station.

The National Forests around Mount Rainier National Park provide a variety of camping and recreation opportunities. Campgrounds are located along highways 12 and 410 in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie, Gifford Pinchot, and Wenatchee National Forests. Campgrounds generally operate Memorial Day through Labor Day with a few remaining open through September. Reservations can be made online or by calling 1 (877) 444-6777 (Reserve USA).

Alder Lake Park
SW/Paradise Area

The 161-acre Alder Lake Park offers options for everyone from traditional tent campers to those who want more of the comforts of home like water, electric and sewer hookups. Campers can choose between sites in the three campgrounds at the Park or they can drive a few miles down the road (4 miles east of the main park entrance on Highway 7) and stay at the more solitary Rocky Point, which has 25 sites with water and electric hookups.
