Northwest Trek Wildlife Park and Tacoma Rail are teaming up for a very special experience for both train buffs and wildlife lovers alike. Ride the train from near Freighthouse Square in Tacoma out to Eatonville where buses will transfer visitors to Northwest Trek. Get up close and personal with bison, moose, caribou and more during a morning ride on the wild side. Hop into the back of the keeper truck and experience the thrill of having these incredible animals only an arm's-length away as the keeper makes his rounds feeding the animals! Ends with a continental breakfast. Menu* includes danish pastries, donuts, cold cereal, fresh fruit, bagels with cream cheese and hot and cold beverages. Featuring the work of local and area artists, this event is held in the Packwood Community Hall and in the Packwood Senior Center next door. Saturday night's festivities end with a classical musical concert at the Prebyterian Church on Highway 12, just east of town.

It's all treat and no trick at Northwest Trek's Hoot 'n' Howl. This is one of the very few times the park is open to the public at night and it is a great chance to see our animals' nocturnal behavior. Games, crafts and lots of non-scary fun keep the family busy throughout the lighted trails of the park. And there are yummy treats to eat as well. For a reduced price and to ensure your space, make reservations by 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19. Admission at the door is higher and may be limited in case of high demand.

Join Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad on an evening trip with locations along our line to search for ghosts and spirits. You will stop along side of Mineral Lake for a goolish spook house. Some say they can't go in! This event becomes more popular each year. Book early. 7:00pm Departure.

Now you can go trick -or- treating and pick a pumpkin all while riding the MRSR train! We will travel to Mineral lake where kids will hunt for just the right pumpkin and have a chance to meet the "Great Pumpkin" in person. Don't forget your costume! 2:30pm Departure.

During the ride, carolers will sing and lead traditional holiday songs. These trains will sell out! Please make reservations as soon as possible.
