PACKWOOD AT MT. RAINIER, Wash. - April 19, 2008 - "Piece of the Mountains" Quilt Show will be the centerpiece of the Packwood Mountain Festival, taking place on May 2, 3 and 4, 2008, at Packwood Elementary School.
The display of antique and contemporary quilts will be at the Packwood Elementary School Gym, where featured quilters will be sharing their expertise. A luncheon will be served on Saturday and quilting supplies will be available for purchase. Admission to the quilt show is $3 per person and hours are noon to 6PM on May 2, 10AM to 5PM on May 3 and 11AM to 4PM on May 4.
A celebration of mountain heritage, the festival is highlighted by demonstrations of mountain skills including flint knapping, Dutch oven cooking, wooden toy making, carving, basket making, and more. Admission to the festival is free. Festival hours are 10AM to 5PM on May 3 and 11AM to 4PM on May 4.
The Sundowners will perform on Saturday from 11AM to 3PM. Roy Wilson will offer a Native American blessing on Sunday at 1PM. Children's activities are also planned.
